Mystique

I spent this past Sunday near the lovely town of Beaufort, SC - our first stop was to the Old Sheldon Church Ruins - first burned down by British troops, rebuilt and burned again by Sherman's troops in the Civil War, it was never rebuilt after that. It's gorgeous, and we got there right in time as soon after we arrived a wedding party got there. I happened to see these ruins on a web site while looking up info about Auldbrass.

Funny story is today we went to see our financial advisor and in his office I saw a painting of these same ruins! I told the secretary I was just there yesterday and she didn't even know what the place was, so weird! It was a lovely view of the front pillars and church which I didn't get a good one because of all the wedding people milling about.

You can see some of the tombs and gravestones that were around the area, there weren't that many of them but the ones that were there were very old - some had confederate flags on them. You can find more info here: [link]
