I spent this past Sunday near the lovely town of Beaufort, SC - our first stop was to the Old Sheldon Church Ruins - first burned down by British troops, rebuilt and burned again by Sherman's troops in the Civil War, it was never rebuilt after that. It's gorgeous, and we got there right in time as soon after we arrived a wedding party got there. I happened to see these ruins on a web site while looking up info about Auldbrass.
This was taken inside the church walls looking out towards where the tombs were - you see the altar, it has the greenery on it because a wedding was taking place that day, in fact soon after this they began putting up chairs and people showed up so it kinda ruined some of my photos. You can find more info here: [link] More views of the ruins: ![]() And check out these views from other deviants that have been there: |
